The Cool Cats Dance Competition!
That's right - As part of our ongoing commitment to quality dancing and competition, Cool Cats is proud to sponsor a dance competition at the festival, with cash prizes and 1st place prize of 4 nights on the Gold Coast (value >$1,250)!
This will be a classic "dance-off" style competition, where dancers will be tapped off the floor progressively until only our top dancers remain. All finalists will receive complimentary tickets to the evening dance (or be refunded if they have already purchased) and have two final songs (one fast, one slow) for the judges - and the crowd - to make their decisions. Prizes are as follows:
- 1st Place: 4 nights on the Gold Coast at Wyndham Surfers Paradise (value over $1,250!)
- People's Choice: $200
- 2nd Place: $100
- 3rd Place: $50
There will be no registration required, but be ready to get on the floor as no more dancers will be admitted once the floor is full!
Dance Lessons
As part of the Rock 'n' Roll themed Woombye Happy Days event, we are proud to be providing FREE dance lessons again in 2024!. The workshop schedule is yet to be finalised but will cover the essentials in each of our lesson styles. Location? Join us in the Cool Cats Dance Hall! (Main Hall, The Woombye School of Arts: 1/3 Hill St, Woombye)

The only ticketed portion of the day is the dinner/dance and bands in the Main Hall from 6pm. This is to help fund future events and in recognition of seating limits. You can buy tickets from the WHD 2024 website or using the QR code below:

Three of the best dance bands on the Sunshine Coast will be rockin' the 50s & 60s retro styled tunes for the evening. Combined with additional music about town during the day the vibe is set to be awesome... Come to listen, come to dance, or just come along to see the show!
The Rock'n'Rollabillys

Punchy retro 50's and 60's Rock n Roll dance beats with a Rockabilly flavor. A fantastic dance band that your feet and ears will love. You'll need your ticket to the evening dance though and space is limited so get in early and make sure you don't miss out!
The Rhythm Rats
This band was a crowd favourite at last year's festival. Get ready to catch them again this year on the main stage :)
The Bowery Boys
A great band rockin' local venues such as Rick's Garage & Beachfest!
